Métaphores x Nilufar: A Visionary Collaboration Unveiled at MDW 2025

This Milan Design Week, Métaphores and Nilufar Gallery presented an extraordinary collaboration, bridging past and present in outdoor design. The project paid tribute to Gae Aulenti, the pioneering designer behind the iconic Locus Solus collection (1964), and introduced Métaphores’ first-ever indoor-outdoor fabric collection, L’Échappée.

Curated by Nina Yashar, Nilufar’s visionary founder, this collaboration embodied bold creativity, where heritage meets innovation. Two distinct design legacies merged, reimagining space with purity and poetry. Aulenti’s groundbreaking approach to outdoor furniture found new resonance in L’Échappée, a collection that redefined the boundaries of fabric and form.

This dialogue between eras and aesthetics offered a fresh perspective on escape—an invitation to experience design beyond convention.
