The relocation of the British Council headquarters from central London to Stratford’s International Quarter created the opportunity to redefine the organisation’s working culture.

The project focused on bringing all teams onto a single floor and creating a flexible, activity-based workplace. A data-driven design approach informed the layout, revealing a need for fewer fixed desks and more open collaboration areas, alongside spaces for focused work and meetings of varying sizes.

The result is a highly adaptable workplace that encourages interaction, supports hybrid working, and enhances the overall employee experience—designed to evolve alongside the organisation’s future needs.
